Holding the Couple:
A Clinical Consultation & Supervision Group for Therapists Working With Couples
Couples therapy presents unique challenges that can leave even seasoned clinicians feeling vulnerable and uncertain. The intensity of couples’ emotional dynamics, their entrenched patterns, and the pressure for us to mediate conflicts can activate our unconscious material. This consultation group will provide a supportive environment to explore these vulnerabilities while discussing practical skills to build clinical confidence and deepen our capacity to work with the couple relationship.
Starting May 19, 2025
Time: Monday 1:15-2:45 PM / bi-monthly
Format: Virtual/Zoom
Group fee: $85
Psychodynamic Couples Therapy Training
A 10-Week Professional Development Series for Mental Health Professionals
This training provides a supportive environment to understand at a deeper level our work with couples while developing a theoretical framework and practical skills that build clinical confidence.
We will use as our framework the theory of behavior offered by psychoanalysis. This theory is a valuable resource for treating the difficulties couples bring into treatment. Psychoanalysis recognizes the importance of unconscious forces in an individual's mental life and gives us a pathway to understand and work with the emotional aspects of personality. These unconscious forces impact all relationships and are the primary foundation of the conflicts couples bring into treatment.
Coming Fall 2025
